My artistic journey is deeply intuitive, a direct conversation llwith the imagery that unfolds on the canvas. I don't set out with a rigid plan; instead, I allow the energy of the moment to guide my hand. When I begin a painting, it dictates its own form from within, a process that ensures each piece is uniquely "me" yet distinct in style. This organic approach is why my body of work is so variedi, constantly evolving and adapting.

By asking, “What invisible mask are you wearing now?” Sonya reaches into the deeply personal, unspoken facets of identity, making her work both universal and intensely personal. Her art challenges the viewer not only to recognize the existence of their masks but to consider a world where these masks may no longer be necessary.
